Domenicali: “Bastianini can return to a Ducati. Bulega? I respect him very much”

Do they sometimes return?

The wait for the definition of the MotoGP Concorde Agreement is keeping official announcements on renewals and team changes suspended for riders in 2027. For months now, the new teams have been defined and the entire paddock knows, but cannot speak officially. In official Ducati we will have Marc Marquez and Acosta, in official Aprilia Bezzecchi and Bagnaia, in official Yamaha Martin and Ogura, in official Honda Quartararo and Alonso, in official KTM Alex Marquez and Vinales. There are still some customer spots in the balance, although VR46 will have Aldeguer, Gresini will have Holgado, Pramac will still have Razgatlioglu, LCR will have Zarco and Moreira.
For Gresini there could then be a welcome return, that of Enea Bastianini, coming off a disappointing two years at KTM Tech3.

Domenicali opens the door to Bastianini’s return

In a long interview granted to the Corriere della Romagna, Claudio Domenicali did not rule out Enea Bastianini’s return to the Ducati family: “Enea is another great talent who for a number of reasons has never quite managed to land the definitive blow. But let’s see, maybe he can also return to Ducati.”
On the future of Nicolò Bulega: “I respect him very much, he’s a very good guy. If we risk losing him? We need to work together, trying to do our best. He is currently involved in Superbike, he has a commitment to be a test rider and we will see what we can do together in the future.”

Regarding the late announcements, Domenicali emphasized to Sky: “It was certainly a bit more complex than usual due to a series of factors. In reality, it seems to me that significant progress has been made in the last week. We are at the formalization of the agreements that seem to have been reached. It will still take a while, but we are in the final phase.”
