100 km each for Leclerc and Hamilton
“In Miami we will bring one and a half packages of updates” the team principal of Ferrari Frederic Vasseur had anticipated during the Suzuka weekend. Ferrari will test all these new features today in Monza during the filming day that the Maranello Scuderia has decided to ‘spend’ (there are two available for the whole year and Ferrari is doing the first one today) to arrive in Miami with some more data on what has been prepared in the factory.
In Florida, in fact, the race weekend includes the Sprint format and therefore there will be only one free practice session before immediately having to push in Sprint Qualifying which will determine the starting grid for Saturday’s Sprint.
According to today’s edition of Il Corriere della Sera, Ferrari will test several new features today in Monza: wings, floor, and other aerodynamic details. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will share the 200km available, laps in which the Ferrari SF26 will have to maintain the same configuration, so comparative tests cannot be carried out.

After the first three races of the season, Ferrari drivers had emphasized that power is the most critical aspect in comparison with Mercedes. The new features that will be tested today in Monza could have an effect on aerodynamic efficiency, while for power, we will have to wait for the new internal combustion engine arriving in the summer.
