As exclusively revealed by the site GPOne.com, in fact, the Borgo Panigale factory went on track at Misano to test for the first time the 850cc bike that will race next year following the regulatory revolution of the premier class of two wheels, which will also lead to a reduction of aerodynamic appendages. The test was carried out with all the formalities in view of 2027 and therefore using Pirelli tires, since starting next year the Italian company will replace Michelin as the sole supplier of the premier class.

Who else but Ducati’s reference test rider, Michele Pirro, could have debuted what will be the Desmosedici GP27. The test, which will be repeated today as well, took place within the context of a double session of the V2 Future Champ DUCATI Academy, an initiative promoted by the Bologna brand for customers of the Panigale V2 model who want to get closer to the world of racing.

During the event, a first 850cc prototype was made available to Pirro which you can admire in the photo kindly provided by our colleagues at GPOne.com. These two days of track activity led by Pirro represent a sort of shakedown for the GP27 while waiting for the real tests to be conducted by Nicolò Bulega, who, given his experience in Superbike, has a particular knowledge of Pirelli tires.

The new red era, which will see the Spanish dream team Marc Marquez-Pedro Acosta as protagonists, has already begun.
