There are still almost three months to go until the 2026 Monaco GP – scheduled for next June 7 – but today there was a Formula 1 atmosphere in the Principality, despite the fact that these days the attention in the small city-state overlooking the Mediterranean coast is all on tennis. In fact, the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 tournament is currently underway and will see its long-awaited final tomorrow. Competing for the title will once again be the two strongest players in the world: Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Today the Italian defeated the German Alexander Zverev in the semifinals and the presence on the court of our champion attracted a lot of protagonists from the Circus who decided to enjoy the ‘home’ tournament – almost all F1 drivers live in the Principality, just like Sinner himself – turning the stands of the Monte Carlo Country Club into a parade of F1 stars. Today, **Gabriel Bortoleto**, **Ollie Bearman**, **Oscar Piastri**, and **Alex Albon** were present to watch the deeds of the world number 2. The four, at the end of the match, could not resist the temptation of a photo with the Italian champion.

The bond with Russell and Antonelli

Yesterday, however, it was the turn of George Russell, who watched Sinner’s victory in the quarterfinals against the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime even in the ‘private’ box of the champion from San Candido. The English driver is indeed a friend of Sinner, who confirmed in a press conference that he wanted to reciprocate the invitations received in the past from Russell and Mercedes: “We are good friends and I was really happy to have him in my box – Sinner said in the press conference, speaking about Russell’s presence – when I went to a Grand Prix he invited me to his. All this without forgetting the great friendship that also links Sinner to the other Mercedes representative, as well as the current leader of the F1 World Championship, Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
