Viñales undergoes surgery on left shoulder
Maverick Viñales‘ World Championship restarts today. The Spaniard underwent a new surgery on his left shoulder, which had already been operated on in July: excessive pain in the joint required a second operation by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini’s team at the Sassuolo hospital. The surgery was perfectly successful and the Spaniard is already focused on his return to the track.

“Well, I already feel better! The screw has been removed from my shoulder and the surgery went well. A big thank you to Dr. Porcellini, Dr. Padolino, and Dr. Giorgini for taking care of me. Now it’s time to focus on recovery and get back to 100%“.
The second operation became necessary because one of the screws from the previous surgery had moved, causing great pain in the shoulder. Viñales, who primarily for this reason did not collect points in the first two weekends of the year, withdrew from the Austin weekend due to excessive shoulder pain: the Spaniard has more than three weeks to recover 100% of his condition: the goal is to return to the track at Jerez de la Frontera, the next appointment on the calendar scheduled for the weekend of April 24-26.
