Renault Geely do Brasil has started local production of the Geely EX5 EM-i Super Hybrid at the Ayrton Senna Industrial Complex. This was announced by the joint venture itself, explaining that the start comes at the end of an upgrade program that allowed the integration of the GEA architecture into an already operational plant. “In Brazil, therefore, the technology and industrial capacity of the Group arrive, not just its models,” the company emphasizes.

Geely EX5 EM-i Super Hybrid
In fact, the GEA platform is the one on which Geely develops its electrified models. The same technological base supports different propulsion technologies: from GEA come both the plug-in hybrid EX5 EM-i and the electric E2, both in production at Ayrton Senna. Although with different timings: in fact, production of the EX5 EM-i Super Hybrid has already started, with the commercial launch on the Brazilian market expected by the end of the year; while in December 2026, at the same plant, production of the Geely E2, a 100% electric hatchback, will begin.
