The back-to-back from Misano to Spielberg
With the Misano weekend behind, held in front of the home crowd last week, the VR46 team will now have to face a new challenge with its riders, this time on the Austrian circuit of Spielberg. Confidence on a little-loved circuit
Excluding the top 3 reached exclusively in Sprint races, the Roman rider has not achieved a podium finish since the Catalan GP, which also corresponds to his last victory. Further motivation can come from the current standings, which see ‘Diggia’ in 4th place and 18 points behind Bezzecchi, who fell in Misano: “I’m happy to get back on track immediately because during the Misano weekend we did everything the right way, but there were some things that could have gone better. However, we are showing good speed on every track and this makes us confident even going to a track where I struggled in the past. We are fourth in the championship, we are doing a good job and we aim to take our satisfactions in Austria.”

The current season instead reserves continuous disappointments for Franco Morbidelli, 13th in Misano after serving a long lap penalty for an impeding against Bastianini during free practice which inevitably compromised his race: “The circuit is completely different from Misano and suits our bike very well. The Ducati has always been very strong on this track and this is a positive thing. I am very confident, also because in the past I have also had some good performances. We are working very well with the team, so we will have to do the same kind of work to start the weekend with a positive Friday as we are doing, then maintaining the same trend for all three days.”
