The Ducati rider and the KTM rider when they found themselves fighting for third place overtook each other three times in one lap. Alex Marquez successfully attacked at Quercia, Acosta responded at Tramonto, and the Gresini rider finally took the position at Carro.
After this overtake Alex Marquez took his left hand off the handlebar to give Acosta the middle finger in response to the maneuver at Tramonto which was not well received and considered a bit too borderline. In the podium room after the race Alex Marquez apologized. “I lost my head, sorry, it’s not done, I got too heated“, said Alex Marquez with Acosta who certainly did not get upset.

“Either I blocked and fell or I left the brake and threw myself, that’s what I did”, Acosta explained. Alex Marquez to the microphones of DAZN closed the matter like this: “When you’re revved up those things come naturally, but they shouldn’t be done – explained Alex Marquez – at Tramonto he came inside practically onto me, I didn’t like it.
