MotoGP Misano, the Practice Report

Marco Bezzecchi wants to be the master at his home, and thus responds to Marc Marquez: at Misano the Romagna rider takes the top spot in Practice with a time of 1:30.144. The Aprilia rider, after yielding by six hundredths in FP1, finds the right burst in the time attack with the second tire: absolute record in the first three sectors, splits that allow him to withstand Marquez’s extraordinary T4 and finish ahead by a tenth.

Marquez, however, does not use the second tire for time but settles for a comfortable placement in Q2 ahead of the other Ducatis of Alex and the two VR46 riders (with Fabio Di Giannantonio ahead of Franco Morbidelli). Missing, instead, is Francesco Bagnaia’s GP26, sadly 19th ahead of only the Pramac.

Also in Q2 are Acosta, Marini, Zarco, and the surprise Pol Espargaró, substitute for Maverick Viñales on the Tech3 KTM. Jorge Martin also saves himself: the World Championship leader, in the second time attack, places P10 and beats Enea Bastianini by 14 thousandths.
