In the middle of Monza Friday, the ‘Monaco case’ exploded. More than two and a half months after the conclusion of the Principality GP, the podium of that race has changed again: the FIA Court of Appeal has in fact upheld the appeal of McLaren and Red Bull and reapplied the two five-second penalties to Pierre Gasly for speeding in the pit lane that had been removed after the right of review. The Frenchman, third under the checkered flag, thus fell back to seventh place, promoting Isack Hadjar to the lowest step of the podium and Oscar Piastri to fourth place.

Gasly sides with Briatore

This decision unleashed the fury of Enstone team principal Flavio Briatore, who in a press conference openly argued with his McLaren counterpart Andrea Stella, essentially accusing McLaren of having ‘corrupted’ a judge. Furious also appeared Gasly himself, who entrusted his outburst to the French TV Canal+.
