The FIA ruling that reinstated the five-second penalty to Pierre Gasly is a heavy blow for Alpine in the fight with Racing Bulls for fifth place.
The Federation’s decision, in fact, shifts 13 points, because Alpine loses nine and Racing Bulls gain four. There are now 16 points separating the two teams in the Constructors’ standings.
