MotoGP, the dates of the first tests 2027
MotoGP is preparing to open the new era of 850cc engines in 2027 and has officially announced the dates of the first tests of the next season. Before the already confirmed Thailand Grand Prix in Buriram (March 5-7) as the first weekend of the World Championship, teams and riders will be the protagonists of two pre-season test sessions.

The first on-track activity of 2027 will be the shakedown at Sepang, scheduled for January 29 and 30 and reserved for test riders and rookies. The shakedown will be immediately followed by the first official test open to all riders: the first session will take place from January 31 to February 1.
After the Malaysian appointment, the paddock will move to Thailand for the second and final official test session before the start of the championship. There will indeed be another two-day work session, scheduled at the Buriram circuit for February 6 and 7, which will represent a fundamental step to refine the new bikes and prepare for the start of the season.

Before the start of the championship, MotoGP will also stop in Rio de Janeiro, where on February 21 the event that will officially launch the season will be held. The Season Launch will take place on the beach of Botafogo, one of the most evocative settings of the Brazilian metropolis.
The first taste of the new MotoGP will however arrive on December 1, 2026, on the occasion of the post-season test at Valencia. It will be a particularly significant day because for the first time we will be able to see the new line-ups of riders (even if not in an “official” capacity) after the sensational market upheavals that 2026 has given us.
