Ayao Komatsu, Haas team principal, explained – presenting the Monza round – that his team will try to reverse this negative trend also relying on new updates in an attempt to develop a VF-26 that now seems capped compared to its direct midfield and backmarker rivals.
Komatsu’s words
“We will arrive in Italy determined to definitively leave behind the frustrating weekend in Zandvoort – Komatsu commented presenting the weekend – from an operational point of view there were certainly some positive aspects, but in the end we are still trying to get better performance from the VF-26. This weekend we will bring another package of updates to the car and so, once again, it will be crucial to make the most of the time available in free practice, thoroughly evaluate the data and commit ourselves to continue pushing in the midfield battles.”

“The races in the second half of the season follow one another at a fast pace – which is fantastic – but it definitely represents a tough challenge – the Japanese manager added – last year we showed we could continue to improve performance even late in the season and this remains our main goal“.
A consolation for the team, in this difficult moment, will come from the group of people working for Haas in Maranello who will be present at the circuit as a thank you for their commitment: “The Italian Grand Prix is always a special event for us – Komatsu recalled – since our design office is located right in Maranello.
