The direct confrontation between the Reds and Antonelli will not materialize, however, because the World Championship leader will start from the back of the grid due to the penalty for using a new power unit beyond the four allowed by the regulations. According to Riccardo Patrese, however, the Italian flag will be raised on the podium at the end of the race.
“We know who the strongest drivers are, and they are Kimi and Lando, but Monza is a track of its own – said Riccardo Patrese in an interview with Vision4Sport – Charles Leclerc loves this circuit where he has already won in the past. So, I would say Leclerc will win. Lando Norris will come second and Kimi Antonelli third.”

According to Riccardo Patrese, Antonelli’s comeback and the possible conquest of the title by the Italian driver will be welcomed with jubilation by Italian fans: “In my time only Ferrari mattered, no one cared if I won or lost because only Ferrari mattered – added Patrese – Kimi is very, very popular in Italy. No one expected such a young Italian driver to compete for the title. It has been so long since Ferrari’s last win that young Italian fans cheer for Kimi rather than Ferrari. The new generation is definitely in favor of Antonelli.”
