All in the points zone
Honda can leave Aragon with relative satisfaction for the positive results achieved by all its riders: Zarco, on his return after the serious injury suffered in Barcelona, actually finished the race in the points zone (15th), as did Diogo Moreira, eighth before being overtaken by Enea Bastianini on the very last lap. Among them are the two riders of the HCR Honda team, Joan Mir and Luca Marini, respectively 12th and 14th.

The first milestone after Brno
The Spaniard, in his home GP, initially seemed the main candidate to occupy the highest position among Honda riders thanks to a good start, then managing the rest of the race with a steady pace that allowed him to see the checkered flag again for the first time since the Czech Republic GP: “It was positive to finish a race after the weekend we had, but today I wanted more. It was important to finish and gain some confidence, even if we were not exactly where we wanted to be. The team and I worked hard to improve compared to Friday and we managed to find some elements that helped us. Our goal is to improve the feeling in the next races to enjoy the end of the season together, because I hoped for something more from Aragon after last year.”

Race not at 100%
After the scare from the fall in the Sprint race, Marini participated regularly in the main race, where he tried to follow his teammate to enter the top 10. A mission not accomplished for the future Tech3 team rider, who with 14th place remains the only rider in the world championship to have finished all races in the points zone, and who will now try to confirm himself in the next appointment scheduled in Misano: “The positive aspect of this weekend is that we managed to take a step forward with the setup for qualifying. Unfortunately, in Q1 I made a mistake and we started from a position further back than we deserved. Our race pace is quite close to that of the top six, as usual, and I hope that with this setup improvement we will be able to make the most of our potential. Fortunately, my physical condition was more or less good and we only had some small limitations in the race. Now we look ahead to Misano and we can’t wait to have a more traditional GP weekend in front of the home fans.”
