A year ago, the Aragon GP was one of the best for Francesco Bagnaia in a rather subdued start to the season. The three-time world champion at Motorland Alcaniz won his first career MotoGP race in 2021, but even this weekend Ducati does not seem to be able to rely on Bagnaia to take heavy points from Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.

“We expected Bagnaia to be at least top-5 here but instead it is not so – said Davide Tardozzi to the microphones of TNT Sports – we tried something in the warm-up that did not work. He has no confidence, he does not push, we cannot find the way to overcome this problem”.
“I believe it is a psychological issue – added Tardozzi – his approach sometimes limits his performance. We have no doubt he is a fast rider, but at this moment he has to overcome this fine line between having confidence and closing his eyes and trying”.
