The hunt for Marc Marquez’s 37 points starts well, as he reiterated yesterday that the goal for Aragon was to make a full haul to try to reduce the gap in the standings from Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi’s Aprilias. In the Sprint, everything went according to the wishes of the reigning world champion, who took command of the operations at the start and burned past poleman Bezzecchi in turn 1, finishing third under the checkered flag.

Wonderful start
In an interview with Sky Sport MotoGP, Ducati Corse’s general manager, Gigi Dall’Igna, applauded Marquez, also admitting to having a bit of anxiety about his rider’s strategic choice. Marc, in fact – together with his team – opted for a medium rear tire, unlike Bezzecchi who chose the soft. However, the excellent start of #93 took the heat off the Borgo Panigale factory team.

“It was certainly a rather complicated race, especially because of the choice of the rear tire – Dall’Igna told Sky – we were a bit worried because clearly the Soft has an advantage in the first laps. Marc, I would say, was clever, he made a wonderful first braking and I think he won the race there”.
