The first free practice session in Aragon saw Marc Marquez rise to the top as expected. The reigning world champion stopped the clock at 1:47.532, leaving all the competition behind. Those expecting an absolute Ducati dominance were disappointed, because close behind #93 are the Aprilias of Raul Fernandez – second just 35 thousandths behind the Cervera champion – and Marco Bezzecchi, an excellent third a couple of tenths off Marquez’s time. Fourth place went to Marc’s brother, Alex, who is also positioning himself as a protagonist.

From fifth place downwards, occupied by Pedro Acosta, the gaps increase significantly with a margin of over seven tenths from first place. In the top 10 are also the two Yamahas of Miller (6th) and Quartararo (10th) and the other Ducatis of Morbidelli, Di Giannantonio, and Aldeguer, respectively seventh, eighth, and ninth in the standings. The only Borgo Panigale bike outside the top ten positions was that of Francesco Bagnaia, who closed FP1 in a worrying 20th position, +1.875 from his teammate’s time. Also disappointing was the result of the World Championship leader, Jorge Martin, only 18th in the standings more than a second and a half behind Marc Marquez.
This afternoon serious business begins with the Practice session that will define the 10 direct accesses to Q2. With such a tight world championship ranking, mistakes will be forbidden for the big names.

The schedule
MotoGP returns to the track this afternoon at 3:00 PM for the Practice session that will determine the first ten qualifiers for Q2. Tomorrow at 10:10 AM FP2, followed by Q1 (10:50) and Q2 (11:15), while the Sprint will start at 3:00 PM. On Sunday, at 2:00 PM, the start of the thirteenth GP of the 2026 World Championship.
