Top 5 disappointing
In a weekend so far quite difficult for Lewis Hamilton, the British Ferrari driver made a small step forward during the qualifying for the Dutch GP, but with a result still disappointing for him and teammate Charles Leclerc. The two, in fact, will start from the third row of the grid, with the seven-time world champion in fifth position ahead of the Monegasque.

Tires to examine
Seventh in the Sprint qualifying and the subsequent race, Hamilton tried to identify the factor that excluded him from the fight for pole position or top positions: “I don’t know if this result is a disappointment for the team – he commented to Sky Sport – I think we came into this weekend trying to progress. We were very strong in FP1, Charles was in the Sprint race, but in these conditions, with the tires, there is something we missed. The car for me went better today, then the tire preparation and everything else are the points where others did better. Some managed to do only one lap, while we were missing something.”

The tires were therefore the reason that denied #44 the chance to fight for pole position, but the Ferrari driver himself was unable to provide a clear explanation: “They didn’t heat up enough. It’s something we need to examine, but I think the car is in a better situation. I think we will have a good car in the race, and hopefully we execute everything well tomorrow”. Despite starting from the third row on a circuit not very favorable for overtaking, Hamilton remains positive: “I’m really optimistic for tomorrow. We have to keep our heads down and keep pushing.”
