Hamilton charges Ferrari
Lewis Hamilton looks confidently towards the second part of the season and highlights the growth of Ferrari. The break has recharged the British driver (“I am in the best shape of the last 20 years“) and this is also evident in his statements. Sir Lewis, moreover, has never won at Zandvoort. The Dutch circuit is one of the very few tracks missing from Hamilton’s “collection,” and the 2026 edition represents the last opportunity to fill the gap: these are the words of the Ferrari driver ahead of the Dutch GP.

“I am really proud of the progress we have made at the start of the season and during the championship. I think it has been a huge challenge for every team. Everyone is very focused within the team. There is a lot of trust in the team, I don’t think I can ask for much more, except that in the second half of the season we need to try to be more effective. We have made many changes to the team, the processes, and the car: I believe we are now in an ideal position. It took a whole year to get in sync, but I think we have succeeded,” these are Hamilton’s words. “I have never won here. I have practically won on all the other tracks, and I absolutely want to change this situation. It is a really incredible circuit, which gives you great energy and has a fantastic crowd“.

“I really enjoy being part of this team, I like where we have arrived. It’s fantastic to get back on track and find ourselves in a situation where we are in the thick of the fight, just a step away from where we deserve to be. Our goal is to take that extra step. But it won’t be easy against Mercedes, McLaren, and Red Bull, because I think they have all done a great job,” he added. “It gave me a lot of confidence to see the things I asked for realized. We have achieved results, they worked. I have the feeling that now we have found the right formula. Now we are working hard to improve further. Some time ago I said that Ferrari had to be an example and that everyone had to follow it: this year it is happening. We are innovators, others have followed the design of our wings and exhaust system. I really believe we are going in the right direction“.
After a positive first part of the season, Hamilton wants to keep pushing. The standings, surprisingly compared to what could have been thought at the start of the championship, see him second, 50 points behind Kimi Antonelli.
