Marquez lost 22 points to Martin at Silverstone
Marc Marquez had gained 22 points on Jorge Martin in the perfect Sachsenring weekend, but lost just as many at Silverstone and thus returned to 40 points from the top of the World Championship, also taking the overtaking of Marco Bezzecchi in the world ranking.
The nine-time world champion in Great Britain knew he would have to limit the damage, but the ‘deficit‘ was heavier than expected. Moreover, Marc Marquez was not the best Ducati rider at the finish line either on Saturday or Sunday.
Now on the horizon is the home garden of Aragon, but exploiting the home advantage from now until the end of the championship will not be enough according to the Ducati rider: “If you want to fight for the championship you can’t wait for your circuits – Marquez said according to the Spanish newspaper AS – you have to give your best on all tracks and at the moment we are not doing that”.
“40 points gap is not a lot, but it is still an entire weekend – Marquez added – now there are three or four circuits that, if we want to achieve something, we must face with determination”.
