MotoGP Silverstone, another tough race for Marquez
Marc Marquez ends a dull weekend with a forgettable seventh place in the British Grand Prix. At Silverstone, the world champion experiences another day of struggle even without rear tire problems. The Ducati rider, starting from the second row, tried to stay with the leading group in the early stages, but again today the performance of the GP26 dropped before the competition.

After a few laps, Marquez found himself disarmed against the attacks of his brother Alex, Pedro Acosta and Fabio Di Giannantonio, confirming the difficulties already shown in Saturday’s Sprint. This is his comment on the Silverstone race.

“We didn’t find the right way to have a consistent race. The rear tire was fine today, it didn’t have an extreme drop like yesterday“, these are his words to Sky Sport MotoGP.

The world champion admits fault for the negative weekend: “It’s impossible to have the most balanced bike on all tracks. Here it was clear that the Aprilia was very good, on another track Ducati will do better. I didn’t do a good job all weekend, which would have allowed me to be 5th, the best possible result in my opinion. But we are seventh, it doesn’t change much“.
For the championship, it’s a negative weekend, but Marquez managed to limit the damage. With the awareness that in three weeks it will be a whole different story, because the race will be at Aragón, a track where he has triumphed eight times in the MotoGP.
