Quartararo and Yamaha towards Silverstone
After the three-week summer break, MotoGP returns to the track for the British GP, one of the most anticipated events on the calendar. Among the teams looking to restart with new energy is Yamaha, which will face the Silverstone weekend with the desire to improve the performance of the Yamaha YZR-M1 on a track historically favorable to the Iwata factory.
For Fabio Quartararo this is the first race weekend following the announcement of his move to Honda starting in 2027, although naturally it was a negotiation already settled before the season. This is therefore the last stint for the Diablo “dressed in blue”: he won here in 2021 and has always shown great feeling.
Quartararo’s words
“It was nice to have some time to recharge the batteries during the summer break, and now I am ready to race again at Silverstone“, these are Quartararo’s words.
“It is a circuit I really like and I know I can be competitive there. Although last year’s race did not go as we hoped, we had very positive moments at Silverstone. We will continue to work hard this weekend as well to try to get a good result“.
Rins’ words
Alex Rins added: “I enjoyed the summer break, but now it’s time to get back on the bike. Silverstone is a circuit I like. It is very fast and technical, and I have good memories linked to that track in various categories. I hope that on Friday we will be able to start the second half of the season well and improve session after session“.
Most likely for the Spaniard it will be his last Silverstone in MotoGP, considering that there are no more spots for him on the grid. Test rider Augusto Fernandez will also participate in the GP as a wild card.
