MotoGP will inaugurate the new 850cc technical cycle from Thailand. The 2027 season will kick off from March 5 to 7 with the Grand Prix held on the Buriram track. This was announced a few minutes ago by the premier two-wheel championship.

For the third consecutive year, Buriram will host the opening round of the MotoGP, a choice that confirms its increasingly central role in the championship: on the calendar since 2018, the Thai track has also hosted the last stages of the winter tests in the last two years.

Next year’s Thailand Grand Prix will go down in MotoGP history because it will represent the debut of the new technical regulations valid for the 2027-2031 period. The new bikes will hit the track for the first time in an official race weekend right in Buriram, starting a new cycle that promises important technological innovations and a new era for the world championship.

The first race under the 2027 regulations will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our sport and we are thrilled to start this journey in Thailand.”

In 2026 the circuit recorded 228,228 spectators during the weekend, with Marco Bezzecchi winning on Aprilia. While updates on the entire 2027 calendar are expected in the coming weeks, MotoGP is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East to make a decision on the fate of the Qatar weekend from November 6-8.
