Liberty Media earns again
Formula 1 continues to grow. The 2025 financial data just published by Liberty Media – owner of the commercial rights of the Circus – testify to the health of the sport and confirm the growth trend experienced under the leadership of the Americans.
The 2025 financial year saw a 14% increase in Formula 1 revenues, which reached 3.9 billion dollars. In the era of the “boom” in popularity of the Circus, this number has always been growing: 2.1 billion in 2021, 2.5 in 2022, 3.2 in 2023, 3.4 in 2024. Operating profit recorded a +28%, reaching 632 million dollars. Payments to teams also increased (+20%, from 791 to 946 million dollars), but at a slower pace than revenue growth. A plus sign also for global fans, who went from 6.5 to 6.75 million.
Domenicali’s words
“Formula 1 has concluded another record-breaking season, marking an exceptional 75th anniversary for this sport,” stated Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1. “The next chapter of F1 will bring great excitement to the track with a new race in Madrid, the debut of Cadillac and Audi, and the return of Honda and Ford to the starting grid. The next season will be exciting for our sport, with the introduction of the new generation of cars, engines, and regulations that will make the races dynamic and full of twists. Our sport has never been stronger, as demonstrated by the list of our prestigious partners, including Disney, Lego, Pepsi, Apple, and Standard Chartered.”
