More than for Lando Norris’s return to victory, for Kimi Antonelli’s lead in the standings, or for Ferrari’s yet another missed opportunity, the 2026 Hungarian GP will be remembered for the incredible overtake Max Verstappen pulled off against Lewis Hamilton at the start of the 16th lap, right after suffering the undercut from the British champion. A brilliant move in turn 1, executed by overtaking both Liam Lawson and the Ferrari driver in a single maneuver, which turned the race around for him, launching him towards an unexpected second place finish.
In the pages of Autosprint, with his unmistakable style, the well-known journalist Giorgio Terruzzi also highlighted the masterstroke maneuver invented by the four-time world champion. An even more special overtake because it happened on a track where it is extremely difficult to put your wheels ahead of another car completing a clean maneuver on track.
