The end in MotoGP
The summer break has begun in MotoGP after the German Grand Prix, but even before this event, official Yamaha had announced the signing of Ai Ogura and Jorge Martin for 2027, thus taking over from the current Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins. However, a question mark remains for the latter’s future: while ‘El Diablo’ has already signed with Honda, the Spaniard is certain to conclude his MotoGP experience which began in 2017.

The will for 2027
The confirmation came from the 30-year-old himself at Sachsenring, who reiterated his desire to finish in MotoGP in the best possible way, as well as looking at a possible move to another world championship like Superbike: “I have nothing in the MotoGP paddock for next year,” he declared, “we are trying to find something in WorldSBK, but at the moment I have nothing in hand. So we will try to enjoy these last races. We will see how we finish, but I would like it to happen with a good spirit, with good results for my career here in the MotoGP paddock. Honestly, these last few years in terms of results have not been going well, but we will try to finish in the best possible way.”

From MotoGP to Superbike: Rins is not the only one
The possibility of signing a contract for the next world championship will not be easy for Rins, one of the riders who will end their career in the premier class. Fierce competition not only to find a seat in Superbike, but also to occupy the place of the championship leader Nicolò Bulega, who is increasingly close to a possible jump to MotoGP for 2027: “It seems that next year in MotoGP there will be four of us without a seat,” he added, “they are certainly moving as I am moving with my manager. As a rider, when you feel competitive, what you don’t want is to take a step back and end your career. Certainly that place at Ducati, if Bulega were to arrive here, would be a very demanding place. But we’ll see.”
