The former team principal joked about Max’s future
After the stormy weekend from Silverstone to Spa in Belgium, the Red Bull RB22 allowed Max Verstappen to get on the podium even without the Macarena wing put on standby for safety reasons.
The four-time world champion also pointed out that without the Virtual Safety Car favorable to Charles Leclerc and Ferrari, he might have been able to challenge his peer for second place, but in any case, it was a positive weekend for Red Bull with the pace on hard tires as the main problem in terms of competitiveness.
Recently Verstappen’s manager Raymond Vermeulen emphasized that the Dutch driver intends to honor the contract that binds him to Red Bull until 2028, but according to the former Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene, the Dutchman is in some ways the master of his own destiny and if he wanted to leave Red Bull, he would succeed.
