Ten races, zero points
The Belgian Grand Prix last weekend marked the debut of Cadillac in the F1 university at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, but for the American team, the failure came here as well. Awaiting the arrival at the Hungaroring, the eleventh race of the season (and the last before the summer break), the team remains the only one in the Constructors’ standings without any points scored.

Ahead of Alonso
A world championship that has so far proved disastrous, with retirements and placements never going beyond 13th place. This, in only one case, was achieved by Valtteri Bottas at the Chinese GP, with the former Mercedes driver 18th in Belgium, corresponding to the penultimate position among classified drivers: “It was another challenging race for us, but we managed to finish it with only one car, which provides us with valuable data to learn from. We still have work to do, especially on reliability and tire degradation, but everyone on the team is giving their best to improve. We just have to keep pushing, because when the results come, they will be even more rewarding. We hope Hungary will be a bit more favorable to us and, if we manage to put all the pieces together in qualifying, who knows what we could achieve.”

Still knocked out
Who instead had to return to the pits to retire his car, something that happened for the third time this world championship, was Sergio Perez. The Mexican, on the 13th lap of 44 total, had to raise the white flag due to a mechanical problem with the rear suspension: “It was an unfortunate end to the race. I had a failure in the rear inner suspension and we had to retire the car. We are still investigating the causes. It was a difficult weekend because we struggled a lot with straight-line speed: even in the race I was missing a couple of tenths and we couldn’t fight longer with Ocon’s Haas, but I hope we can solve the problem for Hungary. I can’t wait to come back stronger there.”
