Blue ribbon in the Academy
Last June 28th, with a blue ribbon and a stuffed toy present in its corner of the box, Ducati congratulated Pecco Bagnaia and Domizia Castagnini, who became parents just a few hours ago.
The Italian champion went down to the track for the Dutch Grand Prix, unfortunately retiring due to a technical problem, and immediately flew to his wife and the little Oliviero.

Among the riders of Valentino Rossi’s Academy, Pecco is the second dad right after the Doctor. The nine-time world champion and Francesca Sofia Novello are indeed parents of two girls, Giulietta born in March 2022 and Gabriella born in January 2025.

From dad Vale to dad Pecco
During the Moto d’Italia event, Pecco Bagnaia said that little Oliviero is a rather calm child: “He sleeps a lot and cries little.”
Valentino Rossi – connected remotely – however warned him with a witty joke: “We talk daily. I told him that now that he is so small it’s like the winter tests. When they grow up it’s the start of the championship”, the Doctor explained with a laugh.
