From Barcelona to Spielberg
Two weeks after Lewis Hamilton’s first thrilling victory at the wheel of the Ferrari, it’s time for the Prancing Horse to get back to work and roll up its sleeves. The new challenge now is the Austrian Grand Prix, on that Spielberg circuit where the Red team achieved its sixth and last victory in 2022 with Charles Leclerc, eager to make up for the mistake in the Sprint and the retirement in the race in Barcelona due to mechanical problems.
From Hamilton’s success to Leclerc’s crisis
Two drivers therefore coming from two completely different moments, but the first who did not want to dwell on what happened in Spain, for better or worse, is Team Principal Fred Vasseur. For the French engineer, what matters is primarily not losing focus, continuing with work that can bring Ferrari even more into the fight with rivals for the leadership of the Drivers’ and Constructors’ championships.
Fred Vasseur: “We arrive in Austria encouraged by the positive signs shown in recent races, although we are aware that there is still a lot of work to do and that we must continue to focus on ourselves. As we have always done since the beginning of the season, we will approach this weekend with the same method and the same mentality, trying to put together a consistent weekend in every aspect, from on-track execution to strategic choices to be made at the pit wall. We know that every weekend represents a story of its own. For this reason, we will continue to face one race at a time, with humility, with the goal of achieving the maximum”.
