Leclerc, a Ferrari forever?
On Wednesday Charles Leclerc and Ferrari announced that they had renewed the contract on a multi-year basis, the usual vague formula indicating at least two years of agreement between the parties.
It cannot be said that it was a surprise, given that the alternatives for Leclerc did not seem to be so numerous or at least no more attractive than Ferrari.
With this new contract, Leclerc will become the driver who has raced the most Grand Prix with the Prancing Horse, an important record, but the Monegasque is the first to know that nothing can be minimally comparable to becoming world champion with the red car.

Vasseur explains the reasons for the renewal
Speaking to the French from Canal+, Frederic Vasseur spoke about Leclerc’s renewal as follows: “It’s never an obvious choice, because it’s both a career choice and a long-term choice. We associate drivers with the development of the following year’s cars, so we cannot afford to change drivers every year. And then for him too it’s a long-term marriage, in the sense that it’s a bet on Ferrari, on the fact that he believes in us for the future“.
Vasseur did not hide the importance of having a solid bond with Leclerc: “What brought us closer was ten years of collaboration, the fact that we have known each other for a long time and are very open with each other. We are very transparent about what we do and what we will do, about the next stages of development of the company or the car. So there is this relationship of trust, but it was not an obvious renewal.”
The team principal then concluded: “I believe in Charles and I am convinced that he is the right horse. But one must always ask the right questions, both him and us, when renewing a contract of this type“.
