Hamilton stays at Ferrari, and Bearman?
Lewis Hamilton did not mince words at the preview press conference of the Canadian GP in Montreal, responding to yet another question about his future in F1: “You better get used to it, I intend to stay here for a long time.” The bold words at the press conference, which were not new for the seven-time world champion since he arrived in Maranello, were followed by very positive performances on track. And who knows what his designated replacement at Ferrari, Ollie Bearman, thought when hearing his compatriot publicly say he has a plan for another five years in F1 (the contract with the Scuderia expires at the end of the year and he has an automatic renewal option for 2027).

Ollie has no deadlines
Who knows, actually no. Because in fact the young British driver answered in Montreal to questions from those who asked his opinion on his chances, which now seem to be postponed by at least another year, of replacing Hamilton at the wheel of the Red car. “There are no particular deadlines – Ollie Bearman said to the Press Association, who, although driving the Haas, is formally a Ferrari driver – that force me to do things by a certain time. “At the moment the goal is to keep growing with Haas – he continues – and I am super satisfied with the trajectory we are following. So, no deadlines, no problem. Many contracts are expiring, I think everyone wanted to see what the hierarchy would be in 2026 and this will then determine how 2027 will be. But that’s not my business, I drive the car. There are people who take care of that for me. I am improving in terms of consistency, it has been a big step forward compared to 12 months ago. Losing concentration because of these rumors and other things will not improve my performance. My main goal is to do my best and this puts me in the best position for the future. I feel ready for anything, that’s what counts.” No rush to join Ferrari, then, for Ollie Bearman.
