Here are the Mercedes updates
In Miami, Mercedes scored a four-win streak, however leaving the Sprint to McLaren and struggling with them also in the GP. The papaya team benefited from developments on the MCL40 and have now accustomed fans to consistently effective innovations, the result of a perfect simulator-track correlation. In Canada, Mercedes has a great tradition: here they have always reached the podium in the ground effect era, clearly the least brilliant under Toto Wolff‘s management, and in 2025 George Russell even achieved pole position, victory, and fastest lap in the race. The Austrian team principal, therefore, can only be optimistic, but calls the team’s attention to a commitment that must not be underestimated at all.
Wolff’s words
“We are heading to Canada ready to resume the normal race rhythm,” this is Wolff’s comment. “Our rivals took a step forward in Miami and we have to react; seven Grands Prix in ten weekends before the break are an opportunity to do so. In Montreal, we will bring our first update package, but we know that only the track result counts.”

“Although it is mid-May, we are at the fourth race of the season. We have a long year ahead of us and, although this is an important weekend, it will not be decisive for the final result,” he added. “We will maintain balance, continue to learn, and give our best every weekend. We will not get too excited when we succeed nor get down in difficult moments; this applies as much to our drivers as to the rest of the team.”
