Di Giannantonio towards KTM
These are hectic days in the MotoGP market. While waiting for the official announcements regarding the top-tier rider shuffle – the agreements have been settled for months – many pieces in the mid-to-upper grid are moving. The most appealing name among these is perhaps Fabio Di Giannantonio, who as we reported is about to leave Ducati to embrace the KTM challenge.

The Roman should form a brand new lineup in the Factory team, teaming up with Alex Marquez, while Pedro Acosta only needs to be officially confirmed at Ducati as Marc Marquez’s teammate. In VR46, mouths have remained closed so far, but from Valentino Rossi there has just been a first confirmation: the contract is not signed yet, but as of today #49 is halfway out of Ducati.
Rossi’s words
“We are all very, very happy with the work we have done so far with Fabio: when we started together, ‘Diggia’ was on foot and year by year we managed to grow. Now he is going very fast and for us it is a great satisfaction“, these are the words of the Doctor to Sky Sport MotoGP.
“There is a risk that he will leave and so we are sorry, but we are happy with where we have arrived“.
One of Rossi’s team acquisitions should be Fermin Aldeguer from the Gresini team, who would take the place of Franco Morbidelli (whose stay in the championship is seriously at risk). Di Giannantonio’s seat could go to one among Nicolò Bulega, Luca Marini, and Celestino Vietti. Certainly, then, it will be “blue”: “Yes, we want to keep at least one Italian for 2027, because our team has always grown with Italian riders. There are still several operations and things to understand“.
