Ducati still dry

“Pecco”’s crash, due to the same brake problem encountered in Jerez de la Frontera, excluded the official Ducati team from the podium for the tenth consecutive GP: this is the longest streak since the 24 races between 2012 and 2014 (from Aragon to Lusail). Davide Tardozzi rightly calls it a “nightmare” on Sundays, but the team manager wants to remain optimistic by highlighting Bagnaia’s progress.

“I want to congratulate Aprilia, because when you have three bikes on the podium it means you have worked very well. It is now up to us to finish the races on Sundays, since they are becoming a nightmare,” this was his comment to Sky Sport MotoGP. “As for Pecco, it is true that he crashed, but we want to take it positively. He got pole position, was fast, and set the fastest lap in the race. He showed speed again. We have always been confident in him, who is a two-time MotoGP world champion.”

Regarding Marquez, Tardozzi provided an update on the double surgery performed this morning in Madrid: “He was operated on his right foot, on the fifth and also the fourth metatarsal, a plate was placed on the fifth and a pin (a rod, ed.) on the fourth. As for the shoulder, everything went well, they removed the two pins that had problems and fixed the radial nerve. So we are very confident, all the doctors who operated on him are very confident that the operation was perfectly successful, so now we wait for rehabilitation and then in the next few days we will understand when he can return.”
