Alpine fifth force
Alpine was clearly the fifth force on track during the Miami weekend as it brought both cars into the final Qualifying session on both Friday and Saturday. The final haul is far from negligible as Pierre Gasly scored a point on Saturday and Franco Colapinto six on Sunday.

In the Constructors’ Championship, the French team is fifth behind Red Bull and has overtaken Haas, proving to be decidedly more competitive than the team led on track by Ayao Komatsu.

Flavio Briatore commented on the weekend in Florida: “For Pierre, it is a disappointing result, because the car was clearly competitive for points here, but we lost this opportunity due to a avoidable incident, as Pierre was the victim of a serious misjudgment by another driver. We are glad that Pierre came out unscathed, thanks to the safety of modern Formula 1. On the other hand, Franco had a really positive week, in which he raced at the level we expect from him every race weekend. The car is competitive and it is precisely these performances that we need, week after week, from both drivers and the entire team to achieve our goals. We are fifth in the Constructors’ Championship and we look forward, not back, to what we can achieve. We have a lot to analyze in the two weeks before Canada, especially regarding some of the updates on the car that may not have given Pierre the performance improvement we expected. Finally, I want to praise the FIA and Formula 1 for their decisive action in bringing the race forward by three hours and ensuring it could take place as planned, keeping an eye on the weather conditions.”
