Everything is ready for one of the most anticipated weekends of the Superbike championship, which will take place on the historic Dutch track of Assen. Besides being one of the most present tracks ever since the Superbike World Championship was established, the ‘Cathedral of speed’ has seen the victories of many champions of the category, with the upcoming possible wins by certain riders who could write new pages of the history of this competition right in the Netherlands.

Successes in the Netherlands
It will be difficult to witness the success of Jonathan Rea, who after the Portimão race will also participate in Assen riding the Honda HRC to replace Jake Dennis. However, the six-time world champion holds the absolute record of 17 wins at Assen, which also coincides with the highest number of wins by a rider on the same track. In last year’s edition held on the Dutch circuit, the three races ended with three different winners: Bulega, Razgatlioglu, and Locatelli, the latter achieving his first Superbike victory.

New records for Bulega?
Also, pay attention to some results that, if achieved, will constitute an absolute first: one case is that of identical podiums for the highest number of consecutive races, just like what happened in Portimão. In the history of Superbike, there have been seven instances of three identical podiums in a row, but if what was seen in Portugal were to happen once again, it would reach four consecutive podiums, something never before seen. Always finishing ahead of everyone else was the current championship leader Nicolò Bulega, who is now aiming for another hat-trick. If the Emilia rider succeeds in this feat, Ducati’s #11 would reach 2nd place of all time behind Neil Hodgson, then go after the absolute record of Alvaro Bautista (stuck at 11). Furthermore, with the third ‘hat-trick’ in the Netherlands, Bulega would climb to the thirteenth consecutive time in his career on the top step of the podium, equaling the winning streak of Razgatlioglu (who achieved it in 2024 and last season).
