Alpine, announced Elliott
Alpine strengthens its technical department with the arrival of Mike Elliott, appointed as the new Chief Technical Officer. The British will be responsible for leading and coordinating the technical and engineering activities of the team at the Enstone headquarters.

For Elliott, this is a return to Flavio Briatore’s team. Before his long experience at Mercedes, in fact, he had worked at Enstone between 2008 and 2012, when the team raced first under the name Renault and later as Lotus. Elliott also worked for McLaren from 2000 to 2008.
In 2012 Elliott left Enstone to move to Mercedes as head of aerodynamics. His career within the Brackley team then led him to increasingly responsible roles: in 2017 he became Technology Director, while in 2021 he was promoted to Technical Director. In 2023 he subsequently took on the role of Chief Technical Officer.

Mercedes’ difficulties in the ground effect era convinced Elliott and the team to part ways after 11 years, but the record speaks clearly, after contributing to eight Constructors’ titles and seven Drivers’ World Championships for Toto Wolff’s team. In his “trophy cabinet” there is also Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 title.
After the period of gardening leave, Elliott evaluated the new challenge to embrace in F1 for several months, and brings experience and quality to a team that is trying to climb back after difficult seasons.
