What happened at Mugello
It was a Wednesday of fear – and then of partial relief – experienced by Nicolò Bulega. The dominant rider of the Superbike season and future rider of the VR46 team in MotoGP in 2027 was in fact the victim of a bad crash at Mugello on the second and final day of testing he was doing with the Ducati 850 precisely in view of the upcoming season.

According to the site GPOne.com, around noon the Ducati rider was the victim of a violent highside at Arrabbiata 2. Bulega was immediately taken to the hospital to have his condition evaluated. Fortunately, the examination ruled out fractures and only found bruises due to the hard impact. After being discharged, the Ducati rider was able to return home.

On track or resting?
It remains to be seen whether this accident will have any repercussions on the upcoming commitments that Bulega will have to (or perhaps it is better to say should) attend: on Monday after the Austrian GP, MotoGP tests are scheduled at the Red Bull Ring precisely in view of 2027, where Marc Marquez and his future teammate in VR46 Fermin Aldeguer are also expected. On September 26 and 27, instead, it will be the WSBK’s turn to take place in Cremona, for the Italian GP which could mathematically crown the 26-year-old from Montecchio Emilia as champion.
