The F1 calendar winks at Verstappen (and Norris)
Today the calendar that F1 will follow in the 2027 World Championship was officially announced. There is no shortage of controversy, as is logical considering some highly debatable choices, but surely someone liked it. Max Verstappen, for example, can already start planning his race schedule for the next season, enriching it with the inclusion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 2027 calendar, in fact, avoids clashes between F1 and the historic 24 Hours at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Le Mans (June 9-13) will also fit into a logistically favorable slot for an F1 driver, as it will come right after Monte-Carlo (June 4-6) and before Portimão (June 18-20).
The four-time world champion can also participate in two other events. In fact, it can be said that he has been thinking about the first for months: the Dutchman had already promised to return to the Nürburgring for the 24 Hours to make up for the painful retirement due to a mechanical failure that cost him the victory in spring. The appointment at the Nordschleife will be for the weekend of May 30, between Montreal and Monte-Carlo.

Verstappen will also have the “free” weekend for the 24 Hours of Spa (June 24-27), which will fit between Portimão and Silverstone. It is difficult, however, that Super Max will participate in all three “extra F1” events because it would mean racing for eight consecutive weekends.
Verstappen is not the only driver who can think about a detour outside the F1 calendar. Lando Norris has also always expressed interest in endurance racing, and after Madrid he tested the McLaren MCL-HY Hypercar that will debut in the Endurance World Championship in 2027.
