In front of everyone, but there is room for improvement
Friday at Misano was definitely satisfying for Marco Bezzecchi, who finished first in the afternoon Practice, securing direct access to Q2 tomorrow with a margin. Yet, interviewed by Sky Sport MotoGP at the end of the session, the Aprilia rider from Rimini appeared satisfied but not as enthusiastic as one might have imagined looking at the timing sheet. He explained the reason himself, highlighting some feeling problems with the RS-GP26.

“Today was a good day: we were fast from the start and that was our goal – said Bezzecchi – we wanted to improve in the afternoon and go directly to Q2. We succeeded and that makes me happy. However, there are many things we need to fix, both on the bike and in the riding. The bike is very nervous. There will be work to do and the level everyone showed was incredible. Marc Marquez was very fast this morning and also this afternoon, he even did a time attack in less, so I expect him as the favorite tomorrow“.

Nervous bike and the knee…
Aprilia’s #72, who comes to this San Marino GP third in the World Championship, then elaborated on the issue, also mentioning his not easy physical condition: “Nervous bike? Hopefully it won’t become a problem. Our bike moves more when there is a lot of grip, like here. The track is fantastic but this complicates certain phases of riding. With the soft tires we suffer, but even with the medium it’s not great. We need to work: for the Sprint the medium is an option, but the soft also performed well last year. We need to work on the stability [of the bike] and fix the movements we have in the fast section; these make riding difficult in delicate parts of the track. The knee? I wake up in the morning decently, but after 4 laps I return to the sensations of last weekend. I will have to carry on this fight for a while: already this afternoon I took a painkiller, I don’t want to take risks“, he concluded.
