The ‘Tsunoda case’
Promoted again to Racing Bulls after Lawson’s temporary move to Red Bull to replace the injured Hadjar, Audi appealed against the mistake made by the Japanese driver during the restart procedure. During the reconnaissance lap after the red flag was shown for Leclerc’s accident, Tsunoda positioned his car outside his own grid box, but despite this, the former Red Bull did not receive any penalty, with the drivers completing another formation lap before the actual start: “Today we had a good race, I am really happy with the result and to be back in the points – commented the Japanese driver awaiting a verdict – a huge thanks to everyone at VCARB for helping me get back into rhythm so quickly. I was a bit worried about not being able to make the medium tires last until the end, but they performed better than expected. I am really enjoying learning all the new aspects of the car and continuing to improve by taking every opportunity that comes my way. If more opportunities arise in the future, of course I will be ready. But the most important thing is that Isack keeps recovering well and I wish him all the best.”

Lindblad’s smile
Even more satisfied with his performance Lindblad, the only rookie in the 2026 world championship who helped bring Racing Bulls back into the points zone after the ‘zero’ at Zandvoort: “It was a positive race for us, and it’s fantastic to have scored points in one of our home races, with both me and Yuki in the top 10. After the restart, it was a bit of a lonely race for me once I put on the hard tires, as there weren’t many overtaking opportunities. Anyway, I think eighth place was the best result we could have achieved today, and considering the pace shown by Alpine throughout the weekend, it was a good race to limit the damage. Looking ahead to Madrid next week, I have driven the new circuit on the simulator and it looks like a real drivers’ track. I think it will be fun, but it will also present challenges, as it is a very technical layout. Kudos to the team for the work they are doing, we have a strong car that has been competitive on every circuit so far, and this gives us a lot of confidence for the upcoming rounds.”
