Kimi protagonist
Ferrari is far away, forgotten. Italy of motorsport (and beyond) since yesterday is all for Andrea Kimi Antonelli, prophet in his homeland and winner at Monza exactly 60 years after Ludovico Scarfiotti. A feat made even more epic by the comeback from 19th to first position and by the fact that Antonelli is increasingly flying towards the World title. A story like this could not but conquer the front pages of all newspapers and so it was: with the sports ones, which was the least, but also with the general ones.

Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport all dedicated the front page to Kimi’s Monza triumph and only the Turin daily ‘dared’ to give the highest cut of the front page to football. Gazzetta opened with “Kimi prodigy” while the other two sports newspapers focused on musical references: “Volare” for Tuttosport and “Sarà perché ti amo” for Corriere dello Sport.
Also the three main national newspapers – Corriere della Sera, Repubblica and La Stampa – wanted to pay the right tribute to Antonelli’s masterpiece. Not with the opening headline, in this case, but in all three papers with a nice photo in the center of the page with Antonelli wrapped in the tricolor. Because today more than ever Kimi has really transcended the boundaries of simple sport.
