Ferrari, via Baritaud
Leo Turrini, in today’s edition of Quotidiano Nazionale, reported that Thierry Baritaud – head of the ERS department of Scuderia Ferrari – has left the company.
His duties, on an interim basis, will be taken over by Enrico Gualtieri, technical director of the Maranello power unit.

It is no secret that the engine and with it the energy recovery systems are considered among the weak points of the SF-26 project and so it is interesting to understand what further developments there might be in the organization chart. Turrini emphasized: “It remains to be seen whether this departure is possibly the prelude to a further series of changes within the team.”

Who is Thierry Baritaud
The French engineer Thierry Baritaud has been part of Ferrari since October 2000, holding various roles both in Formula 1 and on road vehicles. For 18 years he has been involved with hybrid technology applied to the track – since the introduction of KERS and ERS – and since 2017 he has held the role of head of energy recovery and turbo systems.
