F1 is tied to Puma, is there room for Nike?

The American sportswear giant needs to find a way to reverse this negative trend and rumors have started circulating about negotiations between Nike and F1, with Nike obviously in the role of a player interested in jumping on the four-wheel Circus train.

F1 is tied to Puma and recently Adidas has ‘attacked’ the F1 market by signing important deals with Mercedes and Audi for example. It is therefore not surprising that Nike wants to try to have its own ‘flag’ at a buffet that is making a splash from an economic success point of view.

According to the Sports Business Journal the Nike executives were present at the Miami Grand Prix in May. Nike had talks with Formula One Management – FOM – regarding a potential deal.

The negotiation could concern aspects related to sponsorship and licensing, although the proposed details and terms are not known. F1 has an agreement with the German brand Puma for the production of co-branded clothing and accessories, we will see if there will be a green light between F1 and Nike and with what repercussions on Puma.
