The Marquez brothers
The Aragon weekend ended in the sign of Marc Marquez, winner of both the Sprint race and the one held on Sunday. Yet, looking exclusively at the Marquez family, the nine-time world champion was not the only one to impress: his brother Alex, with his 2nd place, also contributed to a family one-two in the Sprint, then coming just one step away from the podium in the next race, finishing in fourth position.

The start mistake
A placement that, according to the Cervera rider, is the result of mistakes and difficulties that did not allow him to fight with his brother, with Acosta or with Bezzecchi to conquer the top 3: “Today unfortunately the start limited us – he commented after the race – I made a mistake in the first two corners and lost a lot. On a circuit like this the start was fundamental and there we lost the train of the best. Regardless, we would have still suffered with the tires: a management that rewarded us at Silverstone but that did not work here. We finish with many important points in view of the home GP in Misano. The most important appointment for the team.”
Double 6th place
Important points for the Gresini team come not only from Marquez’s placements but also from those obtained by Fermin Aldeguer. Returning after the injury suffered in Assen, the Spaniard finished 6th in both races: “We have to be very satisfied with this weekend – he added – two sixth places and good physical condition are the best things of this weekend. We need to improve the qualifying session, but it is something we have been working on for a while and we will work on it in the coming weeks. We have a week to recover a little more physically, but we are ready for the Misano-Austria double. We have to try to get back on the podium.”
