MotoGP, Martin’s gap narrows
During the Aragón GP weekend Jorge Martin was not among the main protagonists, but he performed a diligent task. Two fifth places arrived at MotorLand which, considering the shortcomings in pace, could hardly have turned into a better haul.

In the riders’ standings, the World Championship leader maintains a gap of +19 over Marc Marquez, who has therefore more than halved the gap in two days. However, the Ducati rider has exhausted the “bonus” of Alcañiz, where he is the undisputed king, while Martin is confident: now come tracks where he can go fast.
Martin’s words
“I am satisfied, in the end my goal is always to grow. I think we had a good growth path this weekend. Unfortunately, we did not find speed, but today I finished closer than I was on Friday“, this is Martin’s comment to Sky Sport MotoGP.
“Maybe fourth place was possible today, in the second part of the race I could have caught Alex, but to do so I would have had to take too big a risk, at two moments I was close to falling. So I decided to settle for fifth place“.
“I fear no one, I focus on myself. I think now very good tracks are coming for me, now I am in the lead and I have to keep working to maintain it until the end“, he added. “At Misano, with the bike that was already good at Silverstone, we can do much better, because it is a track where there is grip“. A clear message, already received by both Marquez and Bezzecchi.
