MotoGP Aragón, Qualifying Report
Saturday at Aragón offers a surprise menu: Marc Marquez is not unbeatable, as shown by a stunning Marco Bezzecchi, who takes pole position in the MotorLand Qualifying. The Romagna rider further breaks the track record and updates it to 1:44.962, ahead of the world champion and his brother Alex.

The Romagna rider is the only one to break (in both time attacks) the 1:45 barrier and enjoys the satisfaction of beating Marquez “at his home” after the Spaniard’s two consecutive clean sweeps with Ducati in 2024 and 2025. Number 93 has to settle for second place, due to imperfect time attacks: in the last one he goes wide at the curve-13 chicane and must give up definitively, yielding the pole to Bez when he was only a hundredth behind.

It is precisely Bezzecchi, with his 12th career pole position, who makes a huge difference, because the first of the other Aprilias (Raul Fernandez’s) is fourth, four tenths behind. Alex Marquez is on the front row, while the World Championship leader Jorge Martin recovers slightly compared to yesterday, with a P5.

Pedro Acosta, who fell at the end, completes the second row. In the third row are Fabio Di Giannantonio and Francesco Bagnaia, the latter having emerged from Q1 along with Diogo Moreira. Applause also for Johann Zarco’s ninth position, returning to a race weekend three and a half months after the terrible Barcelona crash.
