Alpine completes its line-up for 2027: the renewal of Franco Colapinto arrives

It is now official: Franco Colapinto will remain in Alpine for the next season as well. After some rumors that arose in recent weeks about the Argentine driver’s stay in the French team, the 23-year-old will remain Pierre Gasly’s teammate also in 2027.

The announcement

The official confirmation came directly from the team with posts on social media, all while the executive advisor Flavio Briatore confirmed the agreement reached with his driver with these words: “We are very happy to confirm our driver lineup for 2027 with Franco remaining as the main driver alongside Pierre. For me, continuity is very important.” Now we are set from the drivers’ point of view and, as I have said many times, although this is an important piece of the puzzle, the most important thing we need to focus on is designing and building a fast car, which remains our absolute priority. This year we have seen Franco grow and mature into a great driver. His results in Miami and Montreal, in particular, confirmed what I already knew: Franco belongs in Formula 1 and belongs to this team. I expect both Franco and Pierre to continue doing a fantastic job on track and for the whole team to give their best until fighting and winning at the top of this sport.”

The experience in Alpine

Happiness was also expressed by Colapinto, who thus continues his experience in Alpine. Joining the team as a reserve driver in 2025, the Argentine then made his debut in 2026 at the Emilia-Romagna GP, when the team promoted him to replace Jack Doohan. Since then, he has always shared the garage with Gasly: “I am very happy to stay with this team in 2027 – he added – I feel very happy and comfortable here, and it was even better to see the significant progress we made this year compared to last year. We still have many goals to achieve and I know the team is working hard to find performance and continuously improve the car. Our long-term goals are clear: to compete and win.
